Adult Acne - A Stressful Condition

By: Kismet Johnson

As teenagers, many of us long for the day that we become adults and experience the bliss of having clear, acne- free skin. Teen acne can make individuals feel awkward and unattractive. Imagine how those who suffer from adult acne must feel. Despite the myths, adult acne is fairly widespread- especially between the ages of 25 and 45.

Although most acne treatments and acne cures are geared toward teens, they can also be effective in treating and preventing adult acne. Unfortunately, there are very few adult acne treatments on the market; this makes many adults believe that they will be forced to deal with their blemished skin for the rest of their lives.

The most well-known type of adult acne is called acne rosacea. People who suffer from this extreme form of acne may develop thick blisters filled with pus, red skin on the face, and small red blood vessels which can be seen on the surface of the affected area. Doctors have been searching for adult acne treatments for rosacea for years. Surprisingly, the most highly recommended adult acne cures is stress relief. It has been clinically proven that break outs, especially of adult acne, can be attributed to the body’s reaction to high levels of stress. Ironically, utilizing one of the best adult acne treatments can become a circular task— the acne may cause an individual stress, but the best way to cure adult acne is to eliminate stress. As a result, many individuals try any and every adult acne cure available which oftentimes leads to worse breakouts. Thus, the best way for adults to overcome their battle with acne is to eliminate stress- inducing agents (within reason, of course) from their lives and include more relaxation and serenity.
